I love pops of color and I always get so excited to decorate for all the different holidays.

By the way, I feel like I should talk about the roof at some point. Is that something you’d like to see/read about?.

A lot of us put off painting our ceilings until they look really embarrassing because, let’s face it, painting ceilings can be HARD.Not just technically difficult, but physically demanding and time-consuming too!.It’s a shame though, because even a basic not-so-fussy paint job on a ceiling can really brighten and freshen a room up in that “I don’t know what it is, but this room just feels so much better now” kinda way..

So last week I started tackling some of the ceilings in our house and it was actually a really pleasant and easy experience.I thought I’d share my tips today so you can join in on the fun if your ceilings need a little love too.. Scrape, patch and repair only where necessary.

Go ahead and scrape off anything that’s hanging down off of your ceiling, and be sure to clean your ceilings well before starting, but don’t feel like you need to sand the whole thing down, mud the whole thing, and sand it all down again to do a “good job”.

Honestly, no one’s going to notice if there are slight imperfections in your ceiling. That’s just something we like to do.

Treasure hunting and fixing up old, neglected things.I’ve brought home many, many great finds from thrift stores in the last few years and have even had a great time out hunting for cool junk with my mom..

But until recently, I hadn’t been in over a year. They say you should pop in every week so you don’t miss out on a great find, but I find that every time I go, I come back with boat loads of fun stuff.
